5 Years went by so fast .... an update on my life, Yin yoga classes and retreats

And all of a sudden we find ourselves in the year 2026.
As you all know, Yoga has always been a part of my life but my yoga journey took the more serious road in 2019 when I did my Sivananda and Yin training in Goa, India and got the "official" certificate. I fell in love with Yin and started teaching in Covid times, on line at first but in person later. I also did a few more specialised Yin trainings (TCM, Myoyin and Acuyin) and started focussing on organizing retreats in 2022, after the world had opened up again.

My first Magical Desert Yin journey was a success and when preparing the second trip something really bad happened (and is still going on) : the war in Gaza. Flight cancelled and people did not want to go to Jordan anymore.
In July 2022 I also had started guiding tours, organized roundtrips, in Cuba, Greece and Italy (later also in Albania, Morocco, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia). Even though I know the countries, had travelled there before - the dynamics of a group, the organizing, the guiding, the working with agencies, local guides, drivers was something completely different and was challenging - I must say I learned a lot these last 5 years in which I guided 37 tours in 10 different countries. And even though I never forgot Yin yoga - I even sometimes give a lesson when working as a tourleader - my focus had to be on my source of income - learning "the tourleader job".
Thanks to another tourleader, who together with her partner, had bought a Finca in the south of Spain to be used as a retreat centre, the flame was awakened again. In November 2025 I held my first "dive deep into Yin Yoga retreat" and this sharing the Yinside of yoga, was an amazing experience. I really loved this. If you have ever asked yourself the reflective question : "What should I have done differently here and what needs improvement ?" and your honest answer to yourself is: "nothing, it just was perfect", well this is what happened to me.

Besides the Yin classes that included Myofascial release and AcuYin, we also enjoyed very good food provided by the lovely owners, a hike to a waterfall (some were brave enough to swim) and a lot of fun as well. For me personally, it was a pleasure to be able to completely share the concept of Yin yoga, in theory and practice, to be able to hear, feel, experience the effect this has on people. It gave me the greatest form of fulfillment imaginable.
One of my participants is a masseuse and we planned a new Dive Deep into Yin Yoga retreat (in Dutch) for November 2026 - that said and done, the rollercoaster of daily live started moving again and it left me little time to promote myself again, because as we all know - things just don't always come by itself, you have to do something - now it the time for that again....
That said and done, I went to search a new location for my Magical Desert Yin Journey because still Jordan is not the place for people to feel safe, unfortunately. Again via tourleader related
Egypt's white desert turned out to have a different yet as mesmerizing effect on me as Wadi Rum, so a new Magical Desert Yin journey is starting to develop......

Concluding my update and in summary :
No, I have not forgotten about Yin yoga.
Yes, I have implemented classes also in my other job.
Yes, I am organizing retreats and holidays.
Yes, I will keep spreading the Yinside ..... want to join me ?
